Wisdom Through Gayatri Sadhana

Gayatri is a mantra which inspires true wisdom and inspires the mind intellect with inner psyche and emotions of the devotee in the righteous path. In the mental sphere, with the development of virtues, vices like passion, anger, greed, attachment, pride, jealousy, selfishness, laziness, intoxication, lewdness, deception, falsehood, pretence, worry, fear, sorrow etc, get reduced and with their reduction virtues like self-restraint, regularity, sacrifice, equality, humility, simplicity, straight-forwardness, truthfulness, fearlessness, carefulness, valor, wisdom, courage, patience, compassion, love, service, generosity, dutifulness, devoutness etc starts developing in the Sadhak. The result of this inner transformation is that the Sadhak acquires the wisdom and strength to meet with equanimity routine challenges and setbacks of daily life. Physical ailments a re averted on account of exercising self-control over sense organs and maintaining regularity. Wit the awakening of the power of discrimination, one gets rid of worries, sorrows, fear, apprehension, attachment, loss etc, which are all created due to ignorance. On account of faith in God, the intellect remains unperturbed and the Sadhak remains care-free about his future. Other people are also benefited by the Sadhak's virtues like service-mindedness, politeness, generosity, philanthropy, honesty, benevolence etc and there is no apprehension of any harm being done to anybody by him. The result is that out of gratitude for his unconditional service people become his admires, friends and defenders. On account of this mutual goodwill, life becomes exceedingly blissful. Thus, with the increase in the element of righteousness (satva) in the physical as well as mental sp here a current of divine bliss overflows and Gayatri Sadhak remains always immersed in it.
Man being an integral part of Divinity, all divine powers is hidden in the human soul in seed form. These powers remain dormant under the debris of mental agitation, sensual perversions, defects and vices in the form of ignorance. People think that they are poor, miserable, insignificant and infirm, but the Sadhaks who are able to sweep away this debris from within them are able to have a glimpse of the pure light of the inner self. They know that the light of the Omnipotent Supreme Divine is present within their own soul and they are its true inheritors. As soon as the ash covering live coal is removed, red-hot flame of blazing fire is revealed. This live coal, although small in size, has the potentiality of causing devastating conflagration. With the unveiling of this curtain an insignificant man becomes a great man. Human soul is a storehouse of supreme knowledge, wisdom and extraordinary powers. By their enfoldment a Sadhak becomes a siddha yogi. Nothing is required to be brought from neither outside nor does it require the grace of some god or demon to attain Siddhis. What is needed is simply to remove the dense and dark covering which envelops the inner light. The sun of righteous Sadhana of Gayatri removes the clouds of ignorance and the resplendent divine light of the soul is manifested. This is instinct with all divine powers, riddhis-siddhis.
The development of righteousness through Gayatri Sadhana gives birth to numerous kinds of spiritual and material prosperity. The purification of the body and mind makes worldly life happy and peaceful. With the growth of prudence and spiritual power several difficulties which appear to others to be daunting like a steep mountain top become as simple and light as straw. The Sadhak finds no insurmountable hindrance in accomplishment of any work. Either circumstances change according to his will or he adjusts and changes his desires to the circumstances. Suffering is due to conflict between desire and unfavorable circumstances. A prudent person is always resilient and avoids conflict and thus leads a happy life. For him the ganga of divine bliss flows on this earth

Women rights to do Gayatri Sadhana

Women have always been accorded high respect in the Nepalese culture. They have been regarded more pious than men. They are often addressed as Devi. Girls are named as Shanti Devi, Gang Devi, and Dayadevi. The word Devi is thus often annexed to their names. Girls are adorned not by degrees etc. but by their inherent God-given feminine virtues.
Gods and great personalities are often known through the names of their wives. In various names like; Sitaram, Radheshyam, Gaurishankar, Lakhyaminarayan, Umamahesh, Maya-Brahma, Savitri-Satyavan; women, have been given precedence over man. All thoughtful and wise persons has regarded women more prominent in respect of virtues like chastity , loyalty, mercy, compassion, service, sympathy, love, affection, generosity, devotion etc.
Women have, in general been given prominence and respect in all religious and spiritual pursuits. If one goes through the Vedas it will appear that not only Rishis but several wives of Rishis were also seers to whom Vedic hymns were revealed. How could the great God who is kind-hearted just and impartial discriminate between man and women who are his own children?
The Rishi of the Mantras of Rig Veda (10/85) is a female named Surya Savitri (sun). In Nirukta, a Rishi has been defined as one who is a seer of Mantras, who understands the secret behind them and transmits it to others ("Rishi darshanat stoman dadarshanti, Rishyo Mantra drastarah").
In twenty-fourth chapter of Vrihad Devta, a list of women rishis in Rigved has been given which includes the names of Ghosha, Godha, Vishavara, Aapala, Upnishad, Juhu, Adity, Indrani, Sarama, Romasha, Lopamudra, Yami, Shaswati, Surya, Savitri as being brahmavadinis. The seers of RigVeda's sukta 10-134, 10-39, 10- 40, 10-91, 10-95, 10-107, 10-109, 10-154, 10- 159, 10- 189, 5-28, 8-91 etc. were women. There is ample evidence which proves that, like males, females used to perform Yagya. They were experts in Yagya technique and religious learning. Several women used to guide their fathers/husband in this respect. Ida had told Manu that she would do avadhan on fire in such a way that he would get worldly riches, pleasures and respect and attain heaven. In Shatpath Brahman, Yagyavalkya's wife Maitreyi has been called brahmavadini, which means brahmavadin-sheel. Brahma means Veda and brahmavadan-sheel means one who gives discourses on Vedas.
Adi-Shankaracharya had to enter into a spiritual debate with Bharati Devi. Her exposition of the scriptures was so marvelous that even eminent scholars were wonder-stuck. Shankaracharya was unable to answer her profound questions and had to seek one month's time to respond. In Shankar Digvijaya (3/16) it is written that Bharati Devi was well-versed in all the Vedas and other scriptures and branches of knowledge. None excelled her in knowledge. How can a ban now be imposed on study of this scripture by women? If there had been such restriction in the ancient times, how could there have been women who could have philosophical debates with persons like Yagyavalkaya, Shankarcharya etc.? In fact, in those days all men and women had equal opportunities for studying the Vedas.

Why should there be Restriction on Women
The meaning of Gayatri worship is to regard God as mother and sit in her lap. Of all the relations in the world, the relationship of mother and child is most loving and intimate. With whatever devotion we turn to God, he responds according to our faith. When the devotee visualizes God in the form of mother and sits in her lap he gets affectionate response accordingly.
The qualities of love, affection, compassion, tenderness, generosity are by nature, found in greater degree in women than in man. Rishis have, there fore, been worshipping God in the form of mother since days immemorial and they have directed every person having faith in region to adopt this easy and safe path of Sadhana. Gayatri worship is supposed to be the daily religious routine of e very Nepali. Whatever may be the system of Sandhya vandan, Gayatri is an essential element in it. One may or may not perform Gayatri Sadhana for a specific worldly or spiritual purpose but he is guilty of neglecting has religious duties, if he does not perform daily routine of Sadhana.
Daughter and son both are beloved children of the mother. Man and women are both equally dear to God. No impartial and just parents discriminate between their children on the ground of sex. God has provided facilities for performance of religious duties and Sadhana for self-realization both to man and women. This is but appropriate on the grounds of equality, justice and impartiality and is proved by logic as well. This simple truth hardly calls for debate and dispute.
It is gratifying to note that in the recent past wise and farsighted eminent person men have been trying to abolish evil customs of the dark Middle Ages. They have started realizing that our nation will not be able to regain its ancient glory so long as women are not liberated from the iron grip of narrow-mindedness in which they have been encased since the middle ages. Since women constitute half of our population we will be able to make all-round progress only by restoring them to their rightful position of dignity, which they enjoyed in the golden era of our hoary past. The blind adherence to orthodoxy which considers evil traditions and conventions prevalent since middle ages as religion is bound to oppose enlightened reforms tooth and nail but it has to be faced boldly by such reformist movements

Worship the World mother

Brahm (the omnipresent, eternal consciousness force) is beyond perception of our senses and conception of our intellect. There is no direct way to reach its realization. The devotional practices, spiritual disciplines and endeavors of jat-tap, etc are only the best possible means and supports in this regard. It is the awakening of Satoguni Chitsakti (absolute purity of the soul, ultimate knowledge) alone that enables the linkage of the individual self with the Supreme Self, unification of the soul with the Brahm. It is only the Sadhana of Gayatri which activates this Satoguni sakti. This Satoguni sakti. This is why all our Vedic Rishis, spiritual sages of all ages had endeavored the devout Sadhanas of Gayatri. Ultimate salvation is not possible without Gayatri Sadhana.
It is the primordial force of Gayatri, which is worshiped in different manifestation of Sakti as - Saraswati, Lakshmi, Mahakalim Maya, Prakrati, Radha, Sita, Savitri, Parvati, etc. Gayatri is therefore revered as the mother of gods, Nature and the Universe. Gayatri is the will, power and activity of Brahm. She is therefore the source of all creation, evolution and ultimate salvation. Divine virtues, beauty, joy, compassion, mercy, love, benevolence, glory, success, prosperity are manifestations of Her preeminent grace. The impulse of Her supreme force rejuvenates, excels and elevates the flow of life. We may also attain divine realms and beatifying bliss by the Upasana, Sadhana and Aradhana of Gayatri

Expand Your Sensitivity
Feeling the pains of others' suffering is sensitivity; the compassion, kindness, generosity for others is sensitivity. A heart devoted to God is certain to be pervaded with love and sensitivity. One who has true faith in God sees HIS presence in every being and therefore presence in every being and therefore has a feeling of sacred love for every one. His heart pulsates for the welfare of all. He can't bear the miseries of others and runs of help leaving aside his own pleasures and problems.
Devotional practices and prayers must enhance the sensitivity of the devotee; otherwise these are no better than performing some rituals and begging before the Almighty. Sensitivity is a sign of sainthood. It also nurtures goodwill and mutual respect. Good people are always careful about not hurting anyone. The qualities of caring love, cooperation and modesty also flourish with expansion of sensitivity. Wisdom of a person glorifies only if coupled with a compassionate heart. The Vrattis (Intrinsic traits) of love, harmony, kindness and prudence, farsightedness, etc are interwoven. Growth of one expands the others too.
Healthy progress of a society depends upon collective efforts of altruistic service, which will be possible only if people are sensible and caring. The greater the expansion of sensitivity and altruism in your heart, the more will be the extent of peace and happiness in your personal, familial and social life.

You are a Pure Soul Not a Sinner

You should attempt to realize your originality. Merely confessing your shortcomings or misdeeds won't make you good. You will have to purify your self by penance and sincere endeavors for improvement. Have faith in the fact that you as a soul are pure; God has sent you with divinity deep within you. Then why should sins or evil tendencies overcome you; you can and should conquer over them. Don't let inferiority; pessimism or untoward instincts overcome you.
Your thoughts have great impact on shaping your personality and course of your life. Therefore think good, think positive, if you think yourself as a sinner, you will become so. But, if you think of yourself as a noble soul, nothing would stop your enlightened transmutation.
Musk is hidden in the naval of a dear, but it frantically runs outside to find it. Most of us also live with similar illusion, without realizing that the elixir or divinity indwells within our own inner selves. All illusions should end now. Let the inner light of self awakening and knowledge brightens up your life from all directions.

The Learned and the Sage
A sage or gyani (who has attained true knowledge) may or may not be an erudite scholar or a learned person, but he certainly is the one who has no egotism and selfishness. Because these narrow identities of self, exist only till there is lack of pure knowledge (gyan). Realization of Gyana is realization of "Sarva Khalu Idam Brahm" (everything, every being is the omnipresent, eternal Brahm, the soul!). Thus a Gyani sees his soul in everyone. His "self" is expanded beyond all limits. He therefore has no cravings, no fears, and no sorrows.
A gyani has attained the ultimate, beatifying fulfillment through gyan; he/she does not even need any supernormal potential or power…. Nothing remains to be known or desired by a sage like him/her.
The erudite scholars are only "learned" or "well aware" if their petty sense of ego is still alive. Egotism and selfishness are expressions of ignorance. It is only the ego, which separates the individual self from the soul, and sheds the inner light. But the Gyani (the true sage), whose ego is transmuted into the divine feelings of oneness with cosmic consciousness, remains unified with God in the inner self.

You Can do It
Each one of us has the potential to transform our present for the better. Whatever we aspire, plan and think about all that is obtainable by our inner powers. Rest assured that if you awaken self-confidence you, can also attain the glory, dignity, success, prosperity, and all the good things in this world by activating your otherwise dormant inner talents and powers. The entire elements essential for elevation are present in you too, as in a great personality. The only difference is that you have not bothered to know yourself. Keep trying…. Who know when, in what circumstances, at what turning point, your sublime powers would awaken and reach you to high realms of eminence?
Have faith in your soul and believe that your inner self is a treasure of enormous hidden powers of the soul! The exceptional self-confidence, firmness, mental strength and far-sighted brilliance you see in great people are nothing but a natural spark of immerses inner strength. Every one is endowed with this "supernormal" source. One only needs to awaken and kindle the inner light.

You are here for the Great Purpose

Have faith that you are originally a great soul. You are not the body; you are for life, not for death. Nothing can harm or perturb you from the path of the great purpose for which you are born. You just have to recognize that purpose.
You are never alone; not even in the solitude of forests or top of the mountain without any companion. That Omnipresent, Almighty God is always with you; HE is there in your breath, your mind, everywhere even while you are asleep. HE has given you this life; HE wants you to transmute and ascend further. That Omnipotent, King of all kings, Creator and Owner of everything is with you; then how can you be helpless or weak? If you have realized and surrender your "I" before HIM, believe me that your will remain protected and will win even if the whole world is against you.
Surrender before God does not mean that you should stop self-effort, self confidence and just become idle and slave or destiny. Rather, it implies elevation of your self-confidence refinement of your attitude, thoughts, aspirations and deeds worth HIS dignity. this is what leads to unification of the individual self with the Supreme Self. You are here to strive for this ultimate evolution.

The Cause of Dissatisfaction
A wise man should cautiously restrain his needs. This requires prudent continence over the senses and control over the waywardly nature of the mind. A sage preaches - "if you want maximum content and joy in your life, you should first restrain your senses and discipline your mind. Draining out your potentials and resources in greed and lust would give you nothing but misery".
We are often driven by false impressions of what is really necessary for us. Desire of sensual pleasures coupled with the advertisements of various things and entertainment lure us and we go on wasting our money, time and efforts in mindless activities. Major loss or paucity of money at times warns us and makes us repent; but this is only temporary. It usually accelerates our efforts of earning more (for further spending……..!
The major cause of your discontent and worries is your inability to discipline your own routine and check your habits and desires. You must remember that self-restrain not only strengthens you financially but also physically and mentally. It is the key to all round success and happiness.

You Are standing In the Middle

You are standing in the middle of the cosmic layer of God's creation. At the higher realms are the great saints, Siddhas, angles and incarnations of divine powers. Beneath your level of existence are the animals, birds, insects and lower organisms. Those above are enjoying in the divine paradise and those below are suffering in various forms. You, the human being are the only one allowed to share both the joy and the pains. You are also the only one privileged with the freedom of action to transform your fate accordingly. It's up to you whether you want to move your fife-course downwards or upwards and destine its devolution to the lower, beastly forms or evolution to beatified, illumined states ……...
If you chose to decline then don't care for anything. Just eat rest and live for sensual joys. Earn these joys by whatever means -ethical or unethical. It's really easy to fall down. You can spend all your stock of good omen for petty pleasures or drain it out by adopting heinous actions. But then there will be nothing but repenting and darkness…..
If you want to rise high on the celestial scale of evolution of your life, you will have to distinguish between the right and the wrong, truth and false, fair and unfair, and choose the righteous path of wisdom and ideals. Climbing up on the higher mountains is harder, but then your endeavors will lead to greater achievements in the end. If you bear hardships for adoption of high ideals, you are indeed elevating your life towards brighter ends.
You are the architect of your future destiny. Life is momentary. So don't miss any instant of this precious opportunity. You are in the middle. You can see both ways upwards and downwards and select the future course of your life prudently.

The only sources of inner joy
God has set a marvelous interdependence within and between the conscious and the inanimate components of Nature in order to maintain the eternal beauty and harmonious functioning of His grand creation. The uncountable numbers of stars and planets revolving in the limitless Universe are mutually connected by natural forces of attraction. Any break in this connectivity would disturb the maintained equilibrium and stability and result in gigantic collision and devastation of the universal system. The same is true of the mutual affinity of the living beings. Just imagine! If a mother does not have a feeling of love or affection for her child, or there is no binding of love between husband and wife, brother and brother, and other family members, then what will be the state of family institution? Lack of the feelings of affectionate caring, amity, cooperation, etc would ruin the entire social system as the latter is founded on these sentiments and consequent unity of its members. Dry-hearts and cruelty would destroy the sense of beauty from Nature.
A sublime spring of pure love is flowing deep within every heart. If we like to be happy, and prosper in an ambience of peace, we will have to awaken the feeling of love in our heart; this should not be an emotional excitement, rather, a feeling of compassion, generosity, honesty, humility, sensitivity, care and respect for others. Those who adopted this divine attitude on every front of their life are truly religious and followers of God. The world reciprocates to them accordingly. Every moment, every circumstance is auspicious for them.
