Worship the World mother

Brahm (the omnipresent, eternal consciousness force) is beyond perception of our senses and conception of our intellect. There is no direct way to reach its realization. The devotional practices, spiritual disciplines and endeavors of jat-tap, etc are only the best possible means and supports in this regard. It is the awakening of Satoguni Chitsakti (absolute purity of the soul, ultimate knowledge) alone that enables the linkage of the individual self with the Supreme Self, unification of the soul with the Brahm. It is only the Sadhana of Gayatri which activates this Satoguni sakti. This Satoguni sakti. This is why all our Vedic Rishis, spiritual sages of all ages had endeavored the devout Sadhanas of Gayatri. Ultimate salvation is not possible without Gayatri Sadhana.
It is the primordial force of Gayatri, which is worshiped in different manifestation of Sakti as - Saraswati, Lakshmi, Mahakalim Maya, Prakrati, Radha, Sita, Savitri, Parvati, etc. Gayatri is therefore revered as the mother of gods, Nature and the Universe. Gayatri is the will, power and activity of Brahm. She is therefore the source of all creation, evolution and ultimate salvation. Divine virtues, beauty, joy, compassion, mercy, love, benevolence, glory, success, prosperity are manifestations of Her preeminent grace. The impulse of Her supreme force rejuvenates, excels and elevates the flow of life. We may also attain divine realms and beatifying bliss by the Upasana, Sadhana and Aradhana of Gayatri

Expand Your Sensitivity
Feeling the pains of others' suffering is sensitivity; the compassion, kindness, generosity for others is sensitivity. A heart devoted to God is certain to be pervaded with love and sensitivity. One who has true faith in God sees HIS presence in every being and therefore presence in every being and therefore has a feeling of sacred love for every one. His heart pulsates for the welfare of all. He can't bear the miseries of others and runs of help leaving aside his own pleasures and problems.
Devotional practices and prayers must enhance the sensitivity of the devotee; otherwise these are no better than performing some rituals and begging before the Almighty. Sensitivity is a sign of sainthood. It also nurtures goodwill and mutual respect. Good people are always careful about not hurting anyone. The qualities of caring love, cooperation and modesty also flourish with expansion of sensitivity. Wisdom of a person glorifies only if coupled with a compassionate heart. The Vrattis (Intrinsic traits) of love, harmony, kindness and prudence, farsightedness, etc are interwoven. Growth of one expands the others too.
Healthy progress of a society depends upon collective efforts of altruistic service, which will be possible only if people are sensible and caring. The greater the expansion of sensitivity and altruism in your heart, the more will be the extent of peace and happiness in your personal, familial and social life.

Who Do You Worship - The Divine or the Devil?

Man misidentifies himself as the physical body. Although he has herd something like 'he has a soul that is different from the body' but does not quite believe it or is not even able to imagine it. If most of us were not living under this illusion about unity of the self with the living body, this land (Nepal) of great Rishis would not have become home to vast spread corruption and confusion. It was this sacred land where Lord Krishna had preached Bhagvad Gita to Arjun and reminded him that he is not the body. As we have totally forgotten this fact and never bother to know about our own "self", how could we know the Omnipresent Self, the God?
We are living in a state of utter ignorance and darkness. Whatever suits our deluded convictions or convinces our selfish intellect that has become the definition of God for us. It is like considering a rope to be a snake because of lack of light. Indeed the rope resembles the shape of a snake and both would look alike if kept at a dark place. But as we all know they are not the same. It is only our illusion because of which we might confuse one with the other. It is a pity that this is what we the 'intelligence beings' have done to-day by regarding the devil as the divine.
Its time we awaken and ponder over our reality. We should attempt to realize that - the soul is sublime; it is not perceivable by the body or the materialistic means.

The Roots of Fulfillment
Most thinkers, philosophers of the world opine that self-evolution is a natural desire, and tendency of every living being. In fact this is what lies behind one's quest for progress and joy. . All efforts, all competitions and struggles for worldly possessions, sensual pleasures, ego-satisfaction emanate from this root-cause in the deepest depth, through we don's realize it because of our extrovert attitude and illusions of letting the worldly substances and circumstances as the keys to a treasure of joy.
One earns money with hard work and keeps saving it to get more and more why? Because he 'feels' it like a source of joy. But the same fellow might spend his savings in gorgeous arrangements of his child's marriage? Why? Because that might give him a 'feeling' of greater pleasure of making his child happy or gaining prestige in the society or what not ….! A dacoit risks his life in bringing huge wealth in loot, but what does he do of it? He might just throw it in drinking liquor; because for him that might appear to be a greater source of pleasure than saving the money or using it some other ways. If the savings are consumed in religious aims or treatment of a disease, one does not feel so bad as one would, if the same amount was lost due to burglary. So what we see common in all these examples and perhaps in every action of our life is that one opts for what he or she feels or thinks as more satisfying, although this satisfaction or joy might be just circumstantial, illusory and short-lived. Deeper thinking would indicate that the root of this quest for joy or fulfillment lies beneath the sublime core of eternal quest of the self for ascent, for betterment, for unbounded evolution … Then we would then attempt for the absolute unalloyed bliss, ultimate fulfillment.

When is a Prayer Granted?

Our prayers deserve to be heard by the Almighty only when we take care of making use of the potentials he has already bestowed upon us. Accumulation of negative tendencies of lethargy, dullness, escapism from duties, ignorance, etc makes one hazardous - for his own life - like a balloon full of concentrated acid, which is most likely to explode anytime or ruin due to the acidic burning.
The rules in the system of God work like a vigilant gardener who uproots the useless and harmful wild growth and carefully nurses the saplings of the useful vegetation. If a field is not ploughed and is full of useless grass or shrubs etc how can it yield a crop (even if the soil is fertile)? Who will praise a farmer, who lets his field be destroyed without bothering to clean it? The system of God certainly can't allow its field of Nature to be left unguarded. The rules of Omnipresent are such that the vices, the evils, the futile get eliminated continuously so that the perfection and eternal beauty of His creation remains unperturbed. If you expect your calls to be heard, you will also have to constantly strive for self-refinement.
The best way to get the response to your prayers is to awaken your self-confidence and follow the path of duties. Then alone your inner self will awake. The opening to the path to the Light Divine lies deep within the realm of soul and enlightened inner self provides the only bridge to reach this sublime source. Those who don't have faith in the dignity of their own souls, who keep ignoring the inner voice and hunt in the external world to quench their wishes are lost in the smog of passions and confusions and invite adversities for themselves. Those who scorn their own (inner) selves are also rebuked at God's end and their prayers evaporate in to void……

Learn to share
You are really fortunate if God has endowed you with vigor, brilliance, knowledge, power, prosperity and glory. Then your life must be progressive and joyful in the worldly sense. But this success or joy would be momentary and won't be fulfilling, if you keep your resources and belongings closed to your chest and use them only for your selfish interests. Your joy, your satisfaction would expand exponentially if you learn to distribute them and share whatever you have with many others.
Try to spend at least a fraction of your wealth, your resources for the needy. Your help will not only give them support to rise and progress, more importantly, it will bestow the spiritual benefits of being kind and altruistic. This will augment your happiness manifold. Those being helped by you will also be happy and thus the stock of joy in the world will also expand.
Distributing and sharing with a sight of altruistic wisdom and a feel of compassion provide the golden key to unalloyed joy. God has been so kind to you; you should also be kind to others. God is defined as the eternal source of infinite bliss because HIS mercy pervades everywhere for all creatures, for everything; every impulse of joy is an expression of HIS beatitude.
You should see the dignity of HIS divine creation in this world. God has also given you an opportunity to glorify your life by selflessly spreading HIS auspicious grace …….

Throw Away All Fears from Your Mind

Getting scared is not a natural tendency of human self. Your soul is absolutely free. It is only your mind, which has created all sorts of fears, worries, sorrows and what not. It is up to you whether to make your inner world ghostly and abominable by such negative tendencies or transform it into a living paradise pervaded with fearlessness, vivid zest, and illumined faith. No one can harm or help you if you awakened yourself. if you want, you can really be strong and free from all worries and fears. Remember again and again that it is your own good or bad thoughts, virtuous or evil tendencies and discerning or confused intellect that 'create' your auspicious or ill omen

Even a slightest instinct of fear or worry disturbs your mental peace. Your thoughts then tend to revolve around its imaginary cause. It expands with greater intensity unless you awaken, firmly decide and uproot and throw it out from your mental field. Better do it now itself and keep away from all such negative feelings. Fight out and eradicate the demons of all fears and worries by the might of inner strength and self-confidence. Think of yourself as the immortal soul, the smog of all weaknesses and apprehensions will disappear with the dawn of self-recognition.

Accept Your Flaws
Whenever one commits a mistake he instantly feels a shock in the inner self. But the next moment his (extrovert) conscious mind comes into action and advices to ignore and hide it because there will insult, penalty or some other unpleasant experience if others come to know about it… This idea further accrues lame excuses, false arguments and triggers him find ways to somehow protect himself and allege someone else for whatever wrong has been done.
But this is the beginning of a vicious cycle. Hiding a flaw even for once induces a tendency to do so again and again. This gradually becomes habit and one stops caring for what is wrong and what is not. The mist of falsehood darkens and weakens his inner self and cultivates sinful tendencies.
Confessing for own weakness or misdeeds in fact shows one's spiritual courage and inner purity. So, if one accepts his own flaws or apologizes for whatever wrong he has committed, he would elevate his dignity. This is a brave act. It enhances one's inner strength. With same strength, one should vow not to repeat such mistakes. Doing this will gradually refine him and accelerate his progress along the righteous path of progress on the worldly as well as spiritual fronts.

The Subtle, Subtler and Sublime

Among the five basic element that constitute the universe and the invisible Nature, Jala (water, other liquids and fluids) is subtler than Prithvi (solid matter on the earth); it can spread all over the earth; Prithvi is born from Jala, and is dissolved in it during Pralay (the final destruction of the universe). Agni is subtler than Jala. Jala is produced from Agni (fire and thermal and other energies); for example, we swelter in heat.
Jala evaporates or is absorbed by Agni. The latter is born in Vayu (air, gases); Vayu can spread over Agni and is subtler that it. Agni is dissolvable in Vayu. Akasha (space) is subtler than all the four elements; its expansion contains Vayu, Time, mind and intellect is subtler than Akasha.
Thoughts lie in the mind. Intellect is subtler and superior than mind; both exist in the sublime domain of consciousness. What is more sublime than the origin of time, mind and intellect? It is the Paramatma - the omnipresent supreme consciousness force. This Brahm indwells in every being, everywhere, but we can't perceive it, as our senses, our mind and intellect are not awakened to realize the sublime. It is only through the unflinching endeavors of Sadhana, life after life, that the one experiences this supra-mental truth in the inner self

Create your Destiny
The one, who eats his first morsel after starving for the whole day and putting in hard labor to earn it, knows the test taste of bread. He then knows real worth of money and would use it best, who perspires his blood to earn it honestly. He alone can measure the magnitude of success, who has struggled against all odds. The one, who has learnt to smile even in adverse circumstances, who marches ahead with greater zeal after failures, he is the real winner.
Those who have no endurance and courage to fight the obstructions in their march towards the goal often blame their destiny and complain against circumstances and other people. But this is nothing but making a mockery of their own efforts. It does not lead anywhere, rather, hampers their abilities and future attempts. One, who regards himself as ill-omened or less privileged in fact, shakes his self-confidence and invites more of despair and superstitions. His success in achieving something significant remains in doubt.
Adversities, hardships and varieties of challenges in the efforts of ascent are tests of whether one deserves success or not? Those who pass it eventually become the conquerors and achievers. Those, who do not, ought to face failures. This is how one is an architect of his own fate.

The Soul Is Brahm

Do you know you're self? It is not merely the physical body and the name given it that defines your identity. Your true self is the soul. You need to begin by restraining your senses and controlling your mind to look introvert and at least feel your mind first. The realization of the soul element is much deeper and sublime….; this is the ultimate accomplishment, absolute joy and completeness, for which you have been taking birth life after life.
Break the shell of ignorance and illusion and bath in the radiance of pure knowledge. Your devotion, worship, study, labor, should all be focused at self-refinement by uprooting your vices and flaws and inculcating virtuous tendencies and self-study in the light of the thoughts and teachings of enlightened personalities, sages and saints. Recognize your inner quest for joy, which because of your illusion and negligence is wrongly conceived by your mind as the passions for worldly pleasures… The pleasures of the senses, satisfaction of worldly possessions is not only momentary, it further drags you in the darkness and eventually throws you in the mire of discontent, sufferings and sorrows.
Come out of your day dreaming. Awaken your wisdom. Strive to experience the light of your soul, which is omnipotent, al-fulfilling, eternal bliss and ultimate reality - the Brahm

Your Prana Pervades Everywhere
Gayatri Vidya enlightens you to see the fact that the same soul is present in everyone. Same Prana (vital spiritual energy) is flowing everywhere in the cosmos, in every being. Your true welfare lies in the welfare of all. Others' pains are yours too. Therefore you should never accept or expect any benefit, which is going to trouble or harm anybody else in some way…. Do not regard anyone as inferior to you; avoid judging or discriminating people on your scale. You should expand the domain of "self-interests" to wider and wider parts of the human society. Let the feeling of oneness, benevolence and self-less love expand beyond any limit….
Don't behave with others in a way that you would not like others behave with you. Every one expects others to be nice to him, he expects none to ever harm, cheat, hurt or insult him… He wants friends and relatives to be kind and supporting whenever he needs. But then he should also observe the same with others…. If you care for others, be good to them, and then only you can expect them to care for you and be good. As you sow, so you will reap….
The happiness or joy of others in a way contributes to yours too. Welfare of the world is the welfare of all individuals, because, there is one cosmic soul manifested in all beings. The devotees of Gayatri should realize this teaching and expand selfishness into selflessness. This is the sole way to spiritual accomplishments and divine evolution of the individual self.

The Significance of Sat-sang

Sat-sang means being in the company of good people, inspiring discourses and discussions. You should always try to be in the company of such people who protect you from evils and wrongs; who can induce hope even in the moments of despair and offer you encouraging support in adverse circumstances.
It is easy to get the sycophants or selfish friends around, who would just be 'friends' when they need something from you; they need not be your well wishers, and might even pull you in the rut of addictions, ego and avarice; they won't hesitate in stepping you on your back if it suits their vested interests. You may find it difficult to find wise men who would be your guides; who world be your critiques on your face to correct your flaws and advice you righteously; who would warn you of the dangers or risks well in time. People often prefer the company of elite; we should know that the best company is that of the enlightened personalities, the elevated souls. Having true friends, though few in numbers is a sign of wisdom. Noble friendship is quite significant in the ascent of life in many respects. It is foolish to make enemies, but worse is to leave the friendship of good people.
Pure intellect and faith in sincere efforts with assiduity are the two key elements essential for transmutation of personality. Adoption of virtues transforms the bad, debased ones into great personalities; on the contrary, vices could decline and debouch the great ones into mean, inferior, scornful levels. So your friends should be those who inspire the virtues and uproot the vices. You may also begin on your own by cultivating good qualities, like constructive use of time, alertness, sincerity and perseverance… Small steps in the prudent direction lead to brighter goals….

Thirst for What?
Instead of giving content, the worldly desires - even if fulfilled always lead to newer ones with greater thirst. It is said that a human life is just a sojourn in the endless journey of the individual self in its quest for completeness. However, if a human being gets rid of all cravings then he can attain absolute evolution in this life itself. Trishna (thirst for fulfillment of desires, ambitions) is the root cause of all thralldoms, which entraps the individual self in the cycle of life and death. How a person enslaved by cravings would ever be liberated? Salvation means freedom from all worldly desires and expectations. Those having quest for realization of absolute knowledge, truth should best begin with a vigilant watch on their own aspirations and control them prudently.
It is said that inner content is the biggest fulfillment. No amount of wealth could match it. One may be free and independent in worldly terms, but in reality he like most of us is the slave of his mind. The one whose mind is captured by Trishna cannot be free for any moment. Even the most affluent man of the world is like a beggar because of his Trishna; because he would always expect something from the world in terms of greater success, wealthier resources and what not. So if you want to rise and make proper use of your life, you will have to restrain your desires, selfish ambitions. Don't escape from your duties, you must be constructive and must transact your duties sincerely; only you leave out the expectations or attachments with the results. Every action has a corresponding reaction here. The Law of appropriate consequences of your Karma is absolute. So don't be desperate for any result, don't think that the world or the circumstance would conform to your expectations. Renounce your Trishna and be a free being…..

The Secret of Human Dignity

Of all the creatures, human being alone is gifted with the liberty to choose the path of evolution or decline as per his will and actions. This is why human species is termed as the crown prince of the Supreme Creator.
Your weaknesses and vices are only temporary diversions or mutations. Your original nature is pure, as you, a human being, are a part of the divine self. You can restrain and remold every habit, every desire as per your resolutions. God will inspire your will and courage once your individual self determines to evolve. Then why do you live like a slave of your senses or worldly circumstances? Don't you want to live a life of self-respect and freedom? If yes, then be self-dependent. Never think yourself as poor or deprived. Let your self-confidence awaken and recognize its inner strength.
If you have faith in the Almighty, you should not care for people's criticism or scorn. If you are on the path of enlightenment, the grace of God will always be with you. Instead, if you like to please others, you will end up losing your own happiness and still they will remain discontent. The more you please the world the greater will be its demand.
One who recognizes the power of the soul, who is duty-bound and makes honest and best use of his natural potentials, is wise. He marches ahead along the path of greatness worth the dignity of the crown prince of God.

Focus At Your Goal
If you really want to be happy and successful in life, begin with setting up your goals. All your thoughts, activities, aspiration should be motivated by this main purpose. Be like a Arjun of the Mahabharata; he used to see nothing except the focused target of his bow. Concentrate upon yourself; analyze your present status, capabilities, and qualities with respect to what is necessary for accomplishing what you aim for. Don't look at what others are doing, their abilities, circumstances, objectives, may be quite different from yours. For example, being impressed by a good singer, you can't jump over to music unless you have natural inclinations towards it and you can pursue long-term training and dedicated practice required for mastering it.
Remember! Being focused at the target does not mean only its imagination and daydreaming. It simply implies that your efforts and your activities should revolve around the chosen objective. This means greater efforts and more work rather than only planning and thinking….. Once you chose the correct direction, don't deviate. Work hard with patience and enthusiasm; enjoy it without any fear, desperation, or despair. It will take you to the desired goal at an accelerated pace.
Focusing the mind and deeds at a prudent goal and being engrossed in it is among the preeminent qualities of elevated personalities. Concentration of mind with willpower at a chosen aim plays wonders. This is the secret of all magnificent achievements and historic successes.

The Omnipresence of Brahm

There is no origin or end of Brahm - the Omnipresent, Supreme Consciousness Force. It is the Absolute power that pervades in the manifested as well as sublime Nature. The existence of every form of matter and life is because of this perpetual, extrasensory, infinite energy source. It indwells within and beyond the limitless expansion of the cosmos. The reflections of its presence might appear to us as varied in the immeasurable diversity of Nature, but it remains the invariable, indivisible, self-existent Brahm.
It is beyond our mental potentials to imagine the subtlest of the subtle, the sublime, and the grandeur beyond the cosmic expansion, the infinite….. This is because our mind is used to perceive only what is within the sensory grasp; its imagination is also confined only to the worldly experience, extrovert aspirations and subconscious impulses emanated thereby. The day our inner mind would awaken and be illumined by the divine aura of spirituality, we would be able to 'see' the Brahm everywhere through the hidden 'eyes' of gyana (pure knowledge).

Let your High Imaginations Materialize
The ability to imagine is a sign of life. Imagination is indeed important and useful provided it is empowered by your creativity, vital energy, the force of your inner will. Imagination without this force is nothing more that abrupt, hazy whims of the agile mind or mere offshoots of untoward tendencies. Engrossment in such imaginations has contrary effects - it diminishes mental alacrity, concentration and vital force. We should therefore be careful and use our prudence in selecting which imagination is worth pursuing.
The 'human' machinery is gifted with the currents of vital energy all around….. There is liveliness everywhere inside and outside… That is what induces zeal, enthusiasm and energy in a person and also triggers his imaginations. But unless one is awakened and has elevated the flow of his vital energy and controlled the mind, one's imagination might prove to be child's act, daydreams of making castle in the air.
Your imagination should be sound and lively. Your wisdom should be able to analyze its worth and resolve to materialize it. All creative projects, inventions, great achievements are outcomes of such imaginations of thoughtful minds supplemented by thorough planning and determined actions.

The Light of the Truth

I have seen wonderful things in this world and have experienced a lot, but I have not yet found any thing, which is greater than "Truth". So many sparkling lights and there in this world but the great savants regards only the Light of Truth as the true Light. If one follows the religion of truthfulness then he is truly religious; he does not need to adopt any other religion then ... The physical body can be cleansed by water but the cleanliness and sanctity of mind is possible only by truthfulness. The heart, which is purified by truth, can rule over all hearts. A truthful person is revered in the scriptures as the greatest ascetic devotee, supreme charitable person; Siddhis (supernatural successes) will lie under his feet. What else could be bigger glory for a person other than being known as "truthful....?
Speaking truth is not only the utterance of fact as it is, it should also be auspicious and should not hurt or insult anyone. It's better to keep quite, rather than telling a truth that harms someone and does not help anybody's welfare. Don't tell a lie or anything, which is false, which is not acceptable to you from within or which is unwise or unnecessary. Remember that adoption of falsehood hurts your inner self and invites your soul's anger and curse.
Be truthful; don't feel shy or scared in following the path of justice. Make sure that what you think as fair is truly so, then remain firm on it forever…..?

Enrich Your Heart
Great personalities do not accumulate wealth, neither do they desire for it, because they have a generous heart full of a treasure that is bigger than that of Kuber (God of wealth). It is said that there is no place for the one who is poor (miser) at heart; if there is no compassion in one's heart, he will have no abode (of peace) - neither in this world, nor in the sublime world beyond… A materialistically poor may have many chances of getting wealthy but the one whose heart is merciless will remain a beggar who will get scorn from everywhere.
Who can be a follower of truth and sainthood? Who is worthy of seeing God? The one, whose heart pulsates with generosity and love....., Harsh, dry-hearted, cruel ones are infirm, they are impaired despite having healthy body, mind and resourceful life; they won't be able to enjoy even the nectar kept in their closed vicinity. "O" tyrants, just think before terrorizing others! What will happen the day when you will be in the place of your victims? Why be blinded by selfish passions, ego and follow apathy? You will have to bear the painful retribution life after life....... Mother earth is a witness to this law of eternity: sooner or later the sinners have to face the dreadful punishments of the hell right here. Therefore, be gentle, sensitive, kind and helpful to others.
Those who possess the light of compassion in their hearts will never wander in the dark. So open your eyes to look inside and illumine your heart with the glow of kindness. Be considerate and compassionate to every one around you.

Take Care of the Present

Our living state lies between that of death and change. Our present is running towards the past. Past and death represent the same thing. Disappearance of the existence of a being or a thing is its death. Since birth, we are heading towards this stage every moment. Every moment passed is a step towards death.
Everything, every cell of our gross existence is continuously undergoing a change holding the future moment to attain its future state. Everything is dynamic here; the tiny molecule and atoms as well as the gigantic planets and stars, the galaxies, the universe, every thing is moving, there is no pause. We too are moving towards the future and transmitting the present in the domain of past. That which is past is gone; that which is going to come is future; both are beyond our grasp. It is only the present, which is in our hand. It is invaluable. It is the only source, which if used sagaciously, could bestow immortal benefits in this mortal life. We must realize it, awaken our mind, and make best possible use of the present.

Unflinching Power of Truth
One who is honest to his soul, whose conduct is guided by the inner voice, who is truthful, sincere and far away from showoff, artificialness, deceptiveness and spuriousness, if the wisest person on this earth. Adoption of truthfulness makes one mightiest as well. Truth has immense power that is stronger than every thing; no power or force of the world could be compared with it.
Don't forget! Falsehood is falsehood; it will come to surface one day or the other and ruin the prestige of the liar. Many a times you find tremendous benefits of telling a lie… But don't be greedy; howsoever small it may appear, a lie is a lie, which carries the chances of enormous loss eventually.
You should walk your talk. Be honest in your words and actions. Truth is like a seed, which looks negligible but ultimately grows into a grand, stout tree. If you want to live an august, rising, happy and peaceful life, you must pledge to follow the path of truth and pursue it sincerely in all circumstances.

Accumulate Illumined Knowledge
Happiness in life does not depend upon wealth or worldly success; rather, it is an outcome of your endeavors of self-development and enlightenment. One who has inculcated righteous attitude by righteous knowledge will always be happy irrespective of his worldly status and resources. He would be able to create favorable circumstances even from adversity. Wisdom and purity of heart generated by true knowledge enable one have light and joy even in the company of devilish people.
There is no place for fear, sorrow, tension or suffering in the lives of illumined, wise people. That is why possession of prudent knowledge is more beneficial than storage of wealth. Sagacious saints earn more honor and unconditional cooperation than the mighty, prosperous, elites.
You should understand that most valuable property is that of illumined knowledge. So don't run behind worldly possessions; strive for knowledge, inner illumination and self-transmutation.

Soul: The Identity of Truth

If we want to know the meaning, the purpose the nature of our life, we must know our own self, our soul. Without that we keep wandering in the infinite trap of illusion and the immensity of worldly circumstances without even having the sight of our goal
If you want to see the light of wisdom, want to excel in the truest sense, you must first accept and ponder over the preeminence of your soul. If you want to live respectful life, learn to respect your soul. Spiritual evolution would begin and eventually lead to unification of your soul (individual self) with the Supreme Soul (God) only if you purify, enlighten your self up to virtuous levels. For that, you will have to recognize and experience the divinity hidden in your soul.
Refinement and rise from inferior to superior, evil to nobility, is possible only if you realize that your soul, your inner self is originally a reflection of the divine. Respecting your inner self, your soul-reality does not mean that you become egotist or arrogant or have some superiority complex. In fact, that would be just a contrary act, a blunder of your ignorance. So be careful and understand that the respect of your own self means honor of your soul, your eternal impersonal self. You should attempt to see the light of divinity indwelling in it, see the presence of God in it and worship it by sublime illumination of your heart, mind and conduct. Remembering it every moment should remind you that you are breathing in the presence of God and should edify your aspirations, your thoughts, your deeds accordingly.

Where is the lasting Joy?
We are all driven by the quest for joy. Behind all our plans, actions, expectations, lies this perennial thirst for joy. But because of our natural perception of the world and life at the gross material level, our domain of search remains confined to the sentient world and related extrovert experiences. We are not even aware that there could be an inner bliss or spiritual joy.
The feeling of delight is within us. How could the external things, material experiences enhance or suppress it? They might just give a momentary excitation or satisfy our ego for sometime. The true means and sources of joy lie deep within our own selves. The vedic philosophy logically describes this fact - it is the consciousness-element of mind, which feels the joy. so, without knowing this sublime element or deciphering its nature and conditioning it, one can't hope for unalloyed bliss or lasting joy. Conquering the mind indeed bigger than conquering the world. One who succeeds in it is the happiest, strongest person in this world.
Hidden there is the subtle spring of infinite bliss in the core of our inner self. What we ever experience as joy is only a sprinkle of this immense source. The pleasures, if any we find in the outer world are also a reflection of this inner impulse. As the Vedic science (of Yoga etc) preach - in order to have to purify and control our minds (both conscious and unconscious mind), stabilize and uproot its agility and extrovert tendencies. Such a mind can eventually have the realization of divinity, of the absolute truth, the omnipresent, eternal "Brahm". Attaining this state is a grand "Sadhana". The gamut of universal principles of religion is taught only for this purpose. The righteous path of morality, human religion alone can reach the realms of ever lasting joy.

See Good Spread Good

What we think, see, hear and adopt in our conduct shapes our inner personality. Our ambience or the external world we live in, affects us as per our attachment and inclination towards it. Whatever we like or feel more attracted for, directly or implicitly influences us more. Repeated occurrences of the same gradually enhance the intensity or this influence and eventually "transform" us accordingly.
One, who cultivates the attitude of seeing the good that indwells in everything, is influenced only by good impressions. As a result, good qualities rise in him waning out the traces of malice, jealousy, selfishness, negative ambitions, etc. Seeing good, feeling good, doing good become the natural instincts of his being.
Goodness is like a magic-stone "Paras" which converts everything that touches it into "gold" (good). It is like a power generator which spread the currents of morality everywhere around. True beauty and soothing joy pervade around the intense core of goodness. The good habit of seeing good protects and magnifies your morality as well as the beauty of your inner self and also helps spreading of goodness. Greater the expansion of goodness, righteousness, discreetness in this world, the nearer would be the dawn of the Era of Truth Here.

Present circumstances Are Our Own Creation
We do commit mistakes and also try to rectify. Many of us think that committing mistakes is part of human nature. But that is correct only in terms of the body and mind. The soul, the origin of our existence, is beyond this nature. It never commits any mistake and is absolutely free from the tendencies of sin. Its eternal nature is experienced in the expression of our consciences. Our conscience warns us against every bad or wrong thought or deed. It reflects intrinsic peace for the good and righteous conduct and thinking. We may neglect or suppress its inner voice, but that wrong perturb its divine nature. It will always be devoted for absolute truth and purity; no craving, no evils, no fear, no torture, could ever reach it.
Our real self is the soul and not the body or mind. We should therefore awaken and realize our divine origin. Think and do things worth our dignity as the crown child of God. The awareness and prudent attitude of purity about our own self will orient our mind, its tendencies towards purity, towards the path chosen by great personalities.
We, as humans have been granted full liberty in choosing our actions. But we should know that we alone ought to face the consequences too. The circumstances prevailing today are our own creations, before blaming any one else me must remind ourselves that we only owe the responsibility to change them for the better.

Disseminate the Light of Spirituality
Many people wonder at how I could write so much on so many topics without having any formal education? Many are amazed at what they regard as my sacramental intelligence. I do not know how much of that is true; I can only tell you that - what you regard as super natural is in fact a natural outcome of inner awakening. The seed of supreme intelligence is hidden in each one of you - deep within your mind and heart.
Most of my Sadhana is devoted to enlighten the human intellect, eliminate the cause of misery that has widely spread in the world today, mainly because of ignorance and fallacious thinking. The sublime force and light of spirituality realized by me is expressed in my thoughts, in my writings to reach you all.
Pt. Sriram Sharma Acharya

Rise! Have Courage

Please note! Advertises and obstructions are there for your own good. They occur to activate your strength and trigger its constructive use. Hidden beneath them is the spring of joy. Those who have never faced any hindrances or struggled against hardships would not know the real taste of happiness and success in life. Only those who have accepted these challenges with courage and stability and conquered over giant struggles in their lives are worthy of being called achievers, distinguished heroes. It is only the lives of such great people that deserve to be dignified.
So don't loose heart. Awaken! Rise! And look at the Almighty - the Divine Light of your Life-Force. God has not sent you in human from without any purpose. He has endowed you with immense potentials: it's your duty to make use of them. Suffering and sorrows surface in our world only until we don't sacrifice our narrow self-interests for greater aims in life. A sapling sprouts and a tree grows from only that seed which dissolves self-existence in the soil; flowers and fruits illustrate its accomplishments and expand its glory.
So, Be Happy and face all testing moments with smile and courage. Have unflinching faith in the eternal truth that your soul is omnipotent. This is what corresponds to having faith in God. The force of this intrinsic faith would wane out all your fears and weaknesses. Its impetus will awaken your inner strength by which you can eliminate all hindrances and win all battles of life.

Quest for Joy
Man wanders all the time, throughout his life, in search of joy, blissful peace, but remains dismayed and astray ….. Acquisition of hoards of wealth, worldly comforts, good health, delicious food, palatial house, vehicles, servants, gorgeous cloths, beauty, beloved family, faithful friends, supporters all around, powers, prestige, name and fame security …. And what not he looks for? People who lack in any of these strive for their possession; those, who already have, try to possess more with new passions ….
This scenario is like that of the tale of the swan (flamingo), which is hunting for the pearl since Ages, but finds nothing but a drop of dew …… why? Because, it did not really search for the pearl; did not even turn his face in the direction of the grand Ocean "Mansarovar" where the pearl is hidden in the depths … It did not gather the courage and strength to fly so long …. Short-sighted intellect and pleasure hungry mind advised it - "what is the guarantee that you will find that unseen Mansarovar"; and who knows whether there will really be any pearl and you would trace it? So it satisfied itself with the shining drops of dew; licked it and thought it has quenched the thirst …; it flew for sometime and the thirst recurred with greater intensity. The cycle continued …
This is what happens with most of us who keep searching for 'immortal' joy in the mirage of perishable world, keep accumulating more of what gives only a momentary pleasure but keeps us away from the sight of real bliss…..

Rights and Duties

If you have respect for your self then you should also believe that your deeds would have an impact on your culture and civilization. Religion (righteousness) is the foundation of Nepalese culture; you should adopt the principles worth its dignity.
The root cause of all the misery, terrors, conflicts and clashes which seen around the world today it - diversion from the axis of religion. One wants the rights without transacting the duties. Man seems to have forgotten that if everyone follows the path of duty, everyone would safeguard and expand the right of everyone. The thirst for rights always looks for what could be grabbed from the others, whereas, the call of duties cares for what others should get…. The first notion expands vices and animosity, while the second spreads benevolence and cooperation.
If we understand that we can't survive and progress without the direct or indirect help of others, we would realize what we owe to the society. Willing and working for the welfare of all - is true adoption of religion. We all, irrespective of our social lineages must follow the path of this duty-bond religion.

Elevate Your Powers
God has bestowed unlimited potentials uniformly among all of us. There is no partiality or lack of uniformity in HIS system. Supernormal powers are hidden in everyone's inner self but no one attempts to awaken them. Most of these remain dormant and are virtually lost because one does not use them.
Some people awaken specific power from this sublime treasure and expand them by focused and sane use in specific direction - this is what is manifested as exceptional talent, supra-mental skill or supernatural potential in them, you can also attain them by sincere endeavor and unperturbed will. Remember that God has bestowed the opportunity of getting every good thing for preeminent progress upon each one of us. Chiseled refinement of personality and beatifying accomplishment of life is in your hand. You can achieve it provided you recognize, awaken and activate the divine potentials of your mind, your inner self, and march ahead in this attempt with unflinching faith and prudence.
Enlightened ascent is the eternal desire of the inner self and it is capable of achieving it in all circumstances. You should therefore rise and pledge to awaken and elevate its powers and expand them in the righteous direction worth the dignity of your soul.

Failure is the Doorstep of Success
Don't panic or lose morale if in spite your best efforts you don't get success. Failure is not bad if it is met along the path towards victory. Whether you recognize it or not, every failure or defeat along this path is a step ahead. It is in fact the first step for desired improvement.
Every failure teaches you something. It apprises you of your flaws and weaknesses in the chosen directions and helps you identify and hence rectify the shortcoming in your attempts. The agility of mind does not let us concentrate upon anything. Failure gives it something like a shock-treatment; that very moment we must awaken, ponder over and strive with strong will to control over its most harmful tendencies.
Failure or defeat shakes our over-confidence and makes us aware of the reality. If we face it with wisdom, it also strengthens us from within. Usually the imagination or thought of failure itself appears frightening but when it occurs in reality, the courage to face it emerges from inside and stimulates our inner strength. Look at the lives of great personalities most of them could attain glorious heights in life only after traversing through adversities and having the bitter experiences of failures. But they learnt from every such experience and proceeded with greater refinement.

Really of Love

The roots of real love lie deep within the soul. Linking it with the Supreme Soul (God) makes in an eternal source of unlimited, unalloyed bliss.
What we often regard as love is, in one form or the other, an affection or attachment with the people or things which we feel as our own. But this binding, howsoever strong that may be, with the perishable entities of this ever-changing world can't be long lasting or consistently blissful. The instances of change like - demise of near and dear ones, separation from the beloved, loss of hard-earned prosperity, or tainting of self-prestige, etc used to be so loving, appears an ocean of dole and depression in these tragic moments. This demonstrates that the bounds and strength of "worldly love" are no more stable or stronger than a castle of sand. Love with the mortal beings, with the momentary things of this world is therefore not true love. True love is a perennial source of limitless joy.... How can it ever be a cause of sorrow?
True love is a spiritual feeling, which surrenders the individual self in the Divine Supreme Self. The individual self, the soul is immortal, sublime, consciousness force, so its love could only be with the Sachchidanand (eternal, omnipresent, ever-enlightening, and ever-blissful) Supreme Soul.

Accumulate Strength
Life is a sort of a continuum of struggles of varied intensities and types. One has to fight with diverse, unfavorable situations and troubles every moment. The success of life is in proceeding ahead against all odds. This seems to be the case with the life cycle of every living being; despite enormous gifts of nature, there also appear enemies and hardships all around in one form or the other. "Survival of the fittest" is a bitter truth in this world. The weaker is a prey to the stronger; big fishes eat the tiny ones; Sparrows eat insects; Hawks eat sparrows and so on…. Huge trees grab the food of the small plants around; the rich men exploit the poor; the mightier rule over the meek.
What do these live- examples teach us? If we do not want to let ourselves ruined by adversities and want to live with dignity, we must be alert and eliminate our weaknesses. We should at least have that much (inner) strength that no one would ruin us just like that; we should at least have the courage, vigor and mental power to fight for our genuine rights and work for moral rise.
Before entering the worldly life, we must know this secret that only the awakened, aware, strong (independent), confident and wise enjoy esteemed success here.

Proper Use of Life

Most part of human life is largely spent in - eating, sleeping and being engaged in sensual passions and pleasures, or worrying, fearing or fighting etc. Almost all the time and efforts are centered round the body and the activities and people associated with it. But is that all the purpose for which the human life is bestowed? If the domain of life is confined to activities related with the body, its protection, fulfillment of its instinctive desires, then what is the difference between human and animals?
Human are the most evolved and intelligent beings. Greater responsibilities are also entrusted along with this superior among us, who do not bear the responsibilities of human life, are not worthy of the dignity of being called humans.
Eradication of evils, vices, wrongs, sufferings and agonies and establishment of the righteous, expansion of the enlightened values of humanity is the main purpose of human life. All the great talents, skills, abilities and powers which Nature has endowed us with are for the betterment of the world, for the welfare of all. So you must try your level best to help others, elevate them. No doubt, you should take care of your health, excelling of your own potentials, your near and dear ones, but your duties should not end there. What ever time and resources you have must also be shared for altruistic service of the needy around you; the society should also benefit by your talents and powers. The greater your altruistic contributions, the better would the use and brighter world be the glory of your life.

A Simple Sadhana of Gayana Yoga
Good name and fame, power, prosperity, high qualification, talents, reputed status, are regarded as measures of achievements in worldly life. These are all fruits of the tree of knowledge. You can't earn worldly success or excel without knowledge - be that in the form of awareness, information, education, skilled training, sane experience or inner light. Dissemination of knowledge for the enlightened welfare of others is the highest kind of donation. Feeding a needy with few meals would serve only temporary help; the lasting help path that will lead to his self-dependence and respectful future.
A disease might be treated by a medicine prescribed by a doctor. But one can't survive on medicine or tonics all the time for vigorous health. If you want to sustain good health, you will have to have and use the knowledge of preventive care and maintaining stamina etc. Only the spark of knowledge could uproot avarice, desperation, tension, apprehension, sorrow, and other mental weaknesses and psychological complaints, which make our lives burdensome. All the prosperity and might of the world together cannot control these complexities; rather they tend to augment the vices and worries in the absence of proper knowledge. True knowledge alone is the key to peace and happiness in this life and the life beyond. This mortal being, into great personalities. There is no better aims, no better gift then knowledge.

Physical vs. Mental Labor

Its is ironical that many people prefer suffering hardship and scarcity instead of doing hard work, because they somehow regard physical labor as something below their prestige. These insane convictions are harmful not only to the individuals but also to the society as a whole. Wasting time in lethargy, just waiting for a task worth the standard of one's family's tradition or conviction leads to further loss, despair and decline. The secret of success of the societies and nations seen as developed or progressing is that they respect and adopt hard labor - be that physical or mental -, all walks of life.
Assiduity is the torch, which guides the path of progress. Those who scorn it or feel ashamed in following it, block their own rise. If a soldier does not like to carry the gun on his shoulders, how will he win on the battlefront?
Industriousness is the key to prosperity. It is only hard earned wealth which can give soothing satisfaction. Our routine should have appropriate place for physical and mental labor. Both are important. Adoption of both with diligence is a sign of wisdom.

A Sadhaka Shuns out All Worries
A Sadhaka is engaged in spiritual endeavor of self-transformation, illumination and ultimate realization. He should be a true devotee who dedicates himself to God's Will. He believes in "Hoi hai vahi Jo Rama rachi rakha" and leaves all his prejudices and expectations. Whatever happens, he regards it as an outcome of thy plan and hence as eventually having some auspicious effects, although it might be adverse in worldly sense. He continues his efforts with equal enthusiasm and sincerity in all circumstances.
God is Omniscient. HE arranges for elimination of the devotees blemishes and inspires his refinement. Understanding this fact, the Sadhaka regards hardships and adversities as part of his Sadhaka bestowed by the Almighty. Divinity encompasses absolute welfare of all beings. Unperturbed faith in God and engrossment in divine thoughts is essential for every Sadhaka. It is the Shraddha (intrinsic faith in divinity and inner devotion) of the Sadhaka to God and accomplishes his auspicious welfare and platitudinous enlightenment.

Focus Your Thoughts On "Why and How"
We might have seen that the same happening has quite different effects on different individuals. For example something that attract one towards luxurious pleasure whereas it might distract one from such attachment and inspire a feeling of sacrifice. Thus, the power (of the effect) lies not in the events or circumstances, rather in one's mind. One's thoughts shape his life. Focused and sound thinking is therefore important in every situation. Scientific thinking is best as it is unbiased and concentrates only upon knowing the sauce, the reason behind a happening.
Before taking up a task at hand, you must ponder over all its aspects. If you fail or are unable to complete it in the best way, you must think and analyze your mistakes, if any and also find out the possibilities of improvement. You should also ponder over your reactions, thoughts and sentiments. "Why did certain think come to my mind"? Or, "Why did I behave that way"? etc… Thinking along these lines trains you in introspection and sound thinking. It is also an excellent way of controlling the agile mind. It will also help you think deeply and find solutions to problems at hand. Start this practice intelligently and become a thorough thinker ….

Karma without Any Expectation

Fate and Karma or destiny and deeds are two sides of the same coin. As the milk of today turns into curd tomorrow, the same way the Karmas of the past appear as the fate of the present…. This is why the savants remark that - you are the architect of your own destiny. You are the creators of your life. Whatever good or bad you did earlier, the consequences of that are before you in the form of good or bad, favorable or agonizing happenings in your life today.
If you are ignoring your duties towards your family and society today, or being cruel or immoral in any way, you sure are piling up sufferings in your future destiny. Living a righteous and dutiful life without getting perturbed by the outcomes is Karma-yoga. You should follow it.
Often people misinterpret karma-yoga and vairagya and become indifferent and feel dejected from everything; many just escape from their duties too. This is wrong. Dejection, lethargy, dullness or inactivity is not Vairagya or detachment. Sacrificing ego, greed or desires of comforts in spite of having all resources for luxuries, is true renouncement. Escaping from hardships in the name of sacrifice is cheating your own self. Renouncing something when you don't have access to be also not enough, as the test of whether you will refrain from its attraction even you had it remains incomplete. The best way to achieve karma-yoga is to make the home like a Tapovan, where you sincerely transact your duties towards the family and society but live an austere, disciplined life. This is how a Karma-yoga attains true Vairagya and reaches near the spiritual realms of absolute salvation.

Tips For Eminent Sadhanas
Don't utter anything without thinking. Speak only whatever is necessary. Observe silence as far as possible. do more of your duties rather than imposing your rights in the momentary world. Expecting people or circumstances to conform of your hidden or expressed desire is egotism. Avoid it. Don't waste your energy and time in mindless fighting if things go against your rights or will. This will save you from enormous hidden evils and untoward consequences at worldly, mental and spiritual levels.
You are already born with a preeminent right - that of unifying with Brahm (realizing "Aham Brahmashi"). Be sincere and regular in introspection and self-analysis. Observe penance and self-confidence for self-refinement. This is tough but essential, if you are cautions against the vices and are determined to eliminate your shortcomings. You are indeed wise. If you have the property of chastity, integrity of character, kindness pure love, tolerance, compassion, forgiveness and calm nature, you are a mighty winner. Acquire these treasures of human values.
Company of elevated personalities, saints and sages and study of their thoughts help protect you from negativity and accelerate your spiritual progress.
Adopt the above mentioned simple practices of Sadhanas in every aspect of your life. You will acquire eminent success…..

Inculcates Good Habits

Getting rid of habits is almost an impossible task for most people. These seem to become stronger with time and carry tremendous force of attraction. One gets driven by his old habits. The magnetic force of one's tendencies attracts compatible thoughts, friends, circumstances and things, which further strengthen the corresponding habits. Habits thus expand their roots and eventually influence one's intrinsic character too.
The firm roots of old habit don't let the seed of new ones, of different nature, grow. … One therefore fails in adopting new, better habits and loses hopes of improvement. This is not the right approach. If you were to uproot an old habit, you must first understand that it is only you who had sown it; it is because of your inclination, interest and long term practice that it became a part of your nature. It will require at least half the time to weaken it; so have patience and continue your efforts of uprooting it by the carrot and stick approach.
Be alert! Warn and punish yourself for repeating it and at the same time divert your interest towards the new, improved creative activities. Encourage and reward your mind for every success in this attempt. Change your routine, change your company and most importantly change your attitude and thoughts. Ponder over elevated thoughts; confidence and zeal to upbeat your strive and prepare the grounds for inculcation of virtuous habits.

Improve the State of Your Life
If you vow to refine and elevate your thinking and thereby transform the inner domains of your life, the status of your external life will also ascend. Gradually you will attain all your deserving goals successfully and gracefully.
If you are entrapped by the mental aberrations and weaknesses like anger, anxiety, jealous, greed, or depression, etc, you should forget about achieving something worth in life. You should first overcome these deficiencies of your mind and have sound health and mental and physical activity.
Always think positively. Think about making the best use of whatever you have, rather than complaining or worrying about what you don't have. the system of Nature is such that whatever you possess - be that wealth, children, resources, post, etc - that will be cease to be yours if you ignore, neglect or misuse it. Once you review and understand your strengths and weaknesses and then analyze your expectations with respect to your circumstances and ponder over them, your trenchant thoughts would themselves pave the way for your rise and progress.

Freedom of Karma

Among all the life-forms, only human form is the one in which the being is given freedom of actions (Karma). The marvelous faculties of conscious and unconscious mind, intellect, and the sense of self-identity are gifted to a human mainly so that he could make best use of these in his actions - intellect is given for reasoning; mind for thinking and pondering over the reasoned thoughts and testing every action whether it is good or bad, whether it is worth one's dignity as a human. If one does not make sane use of this unique privilege, he shall not only be the loser but also a culprit of defying the preeminent duty assigned by the Supreme Creator.
Freedom of Karma is a birth right of every human being. But, no one has the freedom to escape the Karmas. The system of Nature is such that every creature has to do its essential Karmas for survival. Nature does not allow any other creature to do anything against its nature. Humans, because of the liberty of Karmas, can attempt diversified actions. But not doing any Karma is impossible for everyone. Nature will automatically pull one towards some Karma as per one's intrinsic tendencies. This is what Lord Krishna reminds Arjun in the holy Gita. The Omnipresent Consciousness of God is present in Karmas and those who try going against the Law of Karma are further entrapped in the illusion of HIS Maya.

Being Good is Being Wise
Tyrants or wicked people do not hesitate in committing mindless flaws and sinful activities. Wise are those who restrain themselves from such follies. Evil generates more evil; this is why one should keep away from it and protect himself against it, as one would from the hazards of fire. The vicious consequences and God's penalty for sins follows the sinner like his own shadow and continue the chase with greater intensity life after life till he is ruined completely. Therefore, be vigilant and keep away from all vices.
You accumulate the curse of your own soul whenever you do something that is unethical or wrong. There is nothing more painful and adverse than burning in this fire. Despite knowing this, people are driven towards misconduct, blemishing acts and sins because of their cravings, ego and selfish attachments. Satisfying these passions for some time appears to give some momentary pleasure but traps one's mind into its grip forever. This is like eating sugar-coated poison. Truly intelligent and wise in this world is the one who precludes himself from evil thoughts and mean, cruel, sinful actions, and on the contrary, adopts truthful righteous path. This wisdom proves to be farsighted and opens up the path of glorious achievements…….

Existence of Sorrows is Imaginary
Vair3gya (renouncement adopted by saints) means renouncing all 'rgs'. The word 'rgs' refers to untoward attachments, excessive affection, jealousy, anger, worries, fear, cravings, ambitious - thirst, depression etc. These are the cause of all misery and restlessness in human life. According to sagacious philosopher Socrates, over three-fourth of the sorrows experienced in the world are imaginary, one created them for oneself because of his own illusory thinking and imaginations. If you enlighten your attitude and refine your imaginations, most of your worries and anguishes will disappear in no time. This is what leads to the principle of spirituality that - vair3gya liberated from all sorrows and sufferings.

First Give, Then Gain

Great personalities always appeal and motivate people in their contact to give something for noble causes. They themselves sacrifice everything they had. This is what makes them great. Through pondering over this fact has taught me that there is no religious duty greater than giving or sacrificing (for others welfare), which we can do any time (provided we have the will and attitude). There is no better mode than renunciation (of selfish possessions and attachments) for elimination of evil tendencies and untoward accumulation in the mind.
If you want to acquire precious knowledge, attain people's respect, achieve something great, and then first learn to give what best you can for the society, for altruistic service. Donate your talents, intellect, time, labor, wealth, whatever potentials or resources you have for the betterment of the world …; You will bet manifold of that in return ….. Gautam Buddha had renounced the royal throne; Gandhi had left the brilliant career, wealth, comforts….. As the world has witnessed, what they were rewarded in return was indeed immeasurable, immortal….
It is worth recalling the beautiful verse of renowned poet Rabindranath Tagore her, which says - He spread his hands open an asked for something …. I took out a tiny piece of grain from my bag and kept on His palm. At the end of the day, I found a golden piece of same size in my bag. I cried - why didn't empty my bag for Him, which would have transformed me, the poor man into a King of Wealth?

Think High, Aim High
You may get clay toys with ease. But it's not so easy to find gold. The tendencies of mind are often downwards and naturally drag it towards harmful actions and sins. However, it requires substantial efforts and zeal to carry out something worth, auspicious and beneficial. For example, the natural flow of water is from higher to lower levels, but the use of powerful pumps etc is required to take it upwards.
Sensual passions, ignorance-driven ambitions, untoward thoughts are hidden enemies that delude the mind of giving pleasure' but enslave it in a vicious trap. Likewise the gravitational force of the earth, they also have some kind of power of attraction, which pulls more and more tendencies and thoughts of similar kind.
But, the same is true of positive sane thoughts, aspirations and determination as well; they also attract the likes and create more powerful field of attraction. Once we awaken the will and vigilance to think wisely and practice restraining the accumulated passions, we will begin to experience the transforming effects. Unchecked accumulation of negative thoughts and vices sooner or later leads to decline, anxiety, despair and sinful sufferings. We should therefore be careful and watch and control our thoughts fro this very moment.

Focus At Your Aim

The human mind is endowed with immense power. However, its agility often makes it futile. One's mental power mostly remains scattered and haphazard in the instability and abrupt wandering of the mind. Mental concentration is a must for successful completion of the task at hand. If you focus it a t the chosen aim, its power gets deeply engaged in what you want to do; it then plays wonders…..
Most frequent, nearest and dangerous obstructions in accomplishing something are the fluctuating tendencies of mind, which keep perturbing and diverting its concentration. The uncountable varieties of thoughts, imaginations, curiosity, ever changing desirous of the mid are reflections of its diversified tendencies. A possible way to control these is to encourage those tendencies that would generate the thoughts favorable to your objective. Holding it onto corresponding imaginations with boosting incentive of thinking about the gains of completing the task also helps greatly. At the same time we have to be alert in countering the diverting thoughts and attractions. This is indeed a Herculean effort, but nothing is impossible for a determined human self.
Your progress m ay is slow and frustrating, but if you continue it with patience sincerity, and willpower you will triumph in you're strive…. Once you are able to engross your mind in what you want, desired success will be at your doorstep.

Good Deeds Wane Ill Omen
The consequences (phala) of good or bad Karmas (deeds) of a person done in the present life are indeed destined to occur at the appropriate time. This is the absolute law of Karma that accounts for one's "fate". How long will it take for materialization of the Karma-phala in one's 'stock' (prarabdha) is unpredictable and inexplicable because of the infinite complexity and constraints of one's interactions with other people and livings beings under different circumstances, mental state, etc, in different lives. What is essential for us is to realize the importance of righteous conduct and adept transactions of duties to shape our future destiny.
It is only the present, which is in our hand. Your noble deeds, altruistic service performed in the present will help annulling the negativity of your evil deeds in the past and thus help reshaping your ill omen to some extent or alleviating its severity. The greater your virtuous actions and saintly attitude, the more intense will be this favorable affect. The great lives of Shivi, Dhadhichi, Harischandra, Prahlad, Dhruva, Pandavas, etc evince this fact - though they did face adversities in earlier phases of their lives because of the Prarabdha, their noble deeds eventually bestowed immortal glory and success upon them.
Those on the righteous path get immense courage to face their destined bad luck, but the sinners or those on the immoral, wrong path, malign even their good luck and pile up miseries for futures. Which way would you like to go? The choice is yours….!

Performing Pranayama

Mostly three types of Pranayamas are described in the scriptures for the panca kosiya sadhana of Gayatri. Whether it is the Sadhana of Kundalini, Gayatri or the awakening of the panca kosa, the basic practices in each deal with the Sadhanas of refinement and elevation of the prana. The Savitri Sadhana is also similar. The knowledge of these Sadhanas of Mahaprana is defined in the Upanishads under the name of pancagni vidya. Practicing of pranayamas is an essential component of these Sadhanas. Mostly, the following five steps are involved in these preeminent spiritual experiments. Each of these could be practiced at home by anybody who has received intensive guidance and demonstrative training.
These fundamental steps are (a) the ajapa japa of Gayatri that is, the Soaham Sadhana; (b) khecari mudra; (c) Sakti calini mudra; (d) Tratak and (e) nada yoga. Of these, the Soaham sadhana is supposed to be most facile. It can be performed all the twenty-four hours of the day and is equivalent to the paramount spiritual Sadhanas in terms of its super natural attainments.
In general, a pranayama is based on two crucial features - (a) controlled breathing to harmonize the system in a measured way and churning of the prana so inhaled and (b) Attracting the maha prana by a samkalpa - determination with strong will power and intrinsic urge. The attraction of the maha-prana and its circulation inside the body together make one complete cycle of prana yoga. Only one of the above activities would not serve the real purpose. Because, deep breathing alone would remain just a good exercise of the lungs, which can also be performed by many other exercise of the body recommended by the physiologists such as - jugging, up and down stretching, surya namaskar etc. On the other hand, only the determined attempts to attract the maha-prana would be like a meditation. This alone will not be so effective unless coupled with the controlled breathing and churning of the maha-prana in the body and the inner self.
There are about sixty-four types of methods for controlled breathing as described in the Nepalese Sastras on yoga Sadhanas. Several other type of breathing activities associated with the yoga Sadhanas of pranayamas do offer the positive effects of physical health along with rousing mental alertness and inner strength.
The Samkalpa part of the pranayama largely depends upon the Sadhaka's willpower and mental concentration. A variety of mantras and pictorial patterns or images for mediation are prescribed for this purpose. The japa (repeated enunciation) of these mantras and focused imagination of the specific objects helps develop the mental engrossment necessary for the initial training of meditation. The Sadhaka should feel as though he is immersed in the ocean of divine prana and attempt to consistently suck this subtle energy through each breath.
The 'magnetic' power of viswasa and sraddha and the potential of determination are not mere imaginations. Indeed they are conscious streams of immense power. The unlimited power of emotions and strong will has also been well recognized and experienced in the present era of scientific developments. The philosophers, psychologists and the experts of the science of spirituality know that the limitless world of the mind and the sentimental core - the mana (mind), buddhi (intellect), citta (subconscious mind) and ahamkara ( sense of self existence), works on the basis of this sublime power of the cetan (consciousness). The vital energy and hence all the functions of the (gross) body also materialize with the help of this power only. It is the basic source of liveliness, charm and glory of one's personality.

Mental Balance

Brain is the centre of man's power. Its strength is limitless. If it is possible to make the proper use of this strength, then the man goes on progressing and progressing along the desired path. The waves produced in the mind are so powerful that one can achieve plenty of material prosperity with their help.
As much as the brain is powerful, so also it is extremely delicate. To protect it and maintain its activity, it is very essential to save it from unrequited heat. If we wish to take proper work from it, it is essential to create balanced conditions for it. The brain is subjected to severe heat from the sun, as well as by over hot water and chemicals, but it is also subjected to heat produced by excitement, and the damage to unorganized mind is in direct proportion to the extent of such excitement.
When excitement increases, man lapses into semi-madness and his imagination, decisions and activity all appear strange. If the actions and activities of a person ridden by anger are carefully observed, one can conclude that very little is now remaining for him to become mad. If the mind possessed by boiling anger is not cooled in time, then a situation can occur in which a person may commit murder, suicide and other cruel acts.
A face full of anger looks like demon's face and signs of excitement become clearly visible on the eyes, lips, nose etc. The person uses abusive language, the body-temperature rises because of increased blood-circulation, the hands and legs start trembling and the hair stands on end.
Blood pressure is of two types, high and low blood pressure and hence a change in blood-pressure may affect either. In the condition of high blood pressure, there is a feeling of increased discomfort and suffocation. The symptoms of low blood pressure are different, but there is discomfort all the same due to other types of effects on the body.
Increased blood-pressure can be linked to anger and low blood-pressure to sad feelings. Feelings and actions full of malice, contempt, aggression, destruction and cruelty come within the ambit of anger whereas feeling and actions of despair, worry, sorrow, fear and shyness come within th sphere of sadness. They can be considered similar to high and low tide, capable of creating instability and disorganization. Everyone knows how difficult it is to swim in a sea full of high waves.
The mental condition of sorrowing, fearful and despairing individual ruins even a strong health in no time. The face looks devoid of life. The voice becomes weak. It appears as if the body is half-dead. One does not feel like doing any work, appetite and thirst vanish and one finds it very difficult to get sleep.
Almost the same situation occurs in anger. The difference is only this much, that when the feeling of sadness dominates the conditions is like the freezing and melting of ice whereas in the state of anger, it is like scorching and burning. As it is, in either situation, the ordinary situation gets destroyed and not only the mind or the brain but also the body becomes incapable of day-to-day routine.
On observing the effects of excitement, it is found that excitement produces a severe shock on the capacity for routine work. The eyes, ears, nose and tongue are able to work half-heartedly, that too with great effort. There is no taste in the mouth. The ears hear imaginary sounds. Very little is remembered of the events that have happened be fore the eyes. The body temperature raises hair stand on end, breathing becomes faster and heart beats and blood circulation become faster. These symptoms collectively destroy to a large extent the life-force. It may be all right if such a thing occurs once in a while but if this disorganized situation, like a bad habit, becomes a part of one's mental make-up, then it is useless to expect stability or happy possibilities in an individual.
Mental instability is said to be caused by circumstances and a person offers excuses like, "It is not my fault. The circumstances were such that I became the victim of excitement or sadness." On the face of it, this logic appears both straight and true, but this is not reality. Different people react differently under the same situation. While one person becomes berserk with a slightly unfavorable situation, another person is able to remain calm and stable in a similar or even more unfavorable situation. This second type of person considers it as the routine ups and downs in life and is not at all perturbed or afraid. He reacts by trying to find solutions for the unfavorable conditions and feels that it is foolish to become perturbed just because the situation has gone against expectations.
Normally one does not come across mental disease. Hence the harm caused by mental illness is not visible to the naked eye, but one gradually comes to understand it. Normally a mental patient shows arrogant and supercilious behavior. One cannot make out that, trapped in some perversity; he is losing his basic capacity and getting sucked into the quicksand of more perversities.
There is damage to the society because of mental diseases, which is much more than the loss caused by physical illnesses. Many persons have made significant achievement in various fields despite physical illnesses, but it has never happened that a mentally ill patient has had any achievement to his credit.
The number of totally mad persons is increasing so fast that it appears that all the other illnesses are lagging behind in the race. The society can be saved from the havoc of he mad people only when more space is allotted to the building of mental asylums compared to the space allotted for jails. Half-mind, whimsical, unbalanced, disorganized and shallow people have increased to such an extent in the society that mentally healthy people in th society are now in a minority. More people suffering from mental vicariousness can be seen these days compared to those suffering from physical illnesses. This class of people is an obstacle in the organization and progress of an already fragmented society.

Human life is the Gift of God

Health, peace as well as honor and reputation are given to the powerful people. Everyone looks in a cruel way at weak and feeble mended persons. The existence of an emotional and weak person is insecure in every place and situation. No body becomes helpful in their development and even God seems to be averse to such a person. Even cruel death throws its cold arms around them first. The principle and rule in this life is the protection and development of the fittest. That is why in its organization, weak people have to face dangers and suffering at every step.
One must accept the need for nourishing and maintaining strength for successful and secure life. Swami Vivekananda has written that first of all one must develop strength. Developing and maintaining strength is the only path to progress. By this way only can one go nearer to the soul and the Supreme Entity viz. God? What ever the goal, it is achievable only by individual or collective power.
Sudden success is not achievable in any field. For that purpose, one has to go on developing one's powers by constant efforts. There is no doubt that all the things and attainments are achievable. But it is also true that for achieving them, worthiness is essential, also it is equally true that to protect them development of the powers is essential.
Worthiness is created only by constant efforts. There is no scarcity of knowledge in this world, but there is a scarcity of that intellectual capacity because of which we are not capable of attaining it. That capacity has to be developed by constant education. To develop worthiness and strength for success in any fields only this rule applies. For this reason, weakness is considered a sin which makes a person stray from the path and throws a person into the pit of difficulties.
Weakness is considered a terrible punishment in the law of nature. To remove it, one will have to become worthy because only a strong person becomes successful in the battle of life. Such a person never becomes old, because he always remains young at heart.
Nutritious food is certainly essential for keeping the body healthy, but even more essential is the stability of mental condition. Nourishment gives energy and energy provides health. However the essential source of energy is the brain which provides not only the energy for digesting the food but to keep all the organs of the body working in organized co-ordination.
Howsoever nourishing the food, it will not give any benefit if the mind is upset. On the contrary when the mental condition is peaceful and balanced, health can be maintained even with meager simple food. Constant mental exertion without interest causes dryness of the skin and other skin-diseases. Similarly at the time of anger, fury and excitement or during disappointment and dejection, the mental condition produces poisonous chemicals internally and their effect is seen on the body. Although the effect is seen on the body, the symptoms are related to the condition of the mind. Lingering frustration and fear due to any event or situation are the two diseases conferred on man by modern culture or 'progress' - psychiatrists call them as depression and phobia. Such type of ill persons keeps an attitude of resistance towards their familial and societal obligations. The main symptoms found in these patients are to become irritated at the drop of a pin and to start weeping suddenly after becoming angry.
Emotional tension also gets converted many times into physical pain. Headache, pain in the abdomen, pain in the joints, chest-pain, pain in the waist etc are more because of mental reasons than physical ones. The root causes here is some worry, fear, some anxiety about trouble in the future or some unhappy memory of the past. This condition of the mind affects any organ of the body and manifests in the pain in that part.

God is Everywhere

According to the Yajurveda 32/8 "The learned people come to know through their knowledge, thinking, contemplation and experience that God is present in every matter. HE astounds everyone. The entire creation has manifested through HIM. All living beings are produced by HIM and go into oblivion (merge into HIM)"
Message: This world has both believers in God and non-believers in God. Those who do not believe in God, they also believe that there is some "power" which runs this entire creation and millions of universes with a definite rhythm. Whether tested on the basis of intelligence and logic or whether you believe on the basis of faith and trust, there cannot be any doubt in the presence everywhere of God. HE is not actually seen, but we can experience Him in every situation. The only condition for that is that we do not make an effort to prove this wrong by rigidly or dogmatically trapping ourselves in a particular line of thought i.e. by keeping an open mind. God Supreme is present in the entire universe. This entire universe is His form 'Purusha eveda ngum sarvam'
Man's strength of soul increases by accepting in this manner the presence of God everywhere. By constantly remaining in the presence of a powerful, capable friend and helper, one's own talent, capability and manliness or valor is awakened and mind's activity for good deeds increases. Man himself is saved due to protection by the divine light of God's authority. He is constantly aware that he is not away from God's sight and he will certainly get the result of his good or bad deeds. In this manner when man gets engaged in good deeds, he saves himself from bad or wicked deeds as well as progresses on the road to becoming a devata (deity) i.e. on the road to achieving divinity.
Everything in this world has the support of something else. If this support is small and brittle, then the condition of that thing will be wobbly. If this support is strong then that thing will be long-lasting and stable. One, who makes the Omnipresent God as his support, is always free from worries. The storms of the universe around him, of attachment, greed, arrogance etc will not be capable of shaking him. He always gets the vision of God in his heart. Our soul is an infinitesimal part of that Supreme Father. The stream of the vital force of life in the body is due to Him only. The never-diminishing treasure of power is within us only, but we are not able to know this fact because of ignorance and always go on crying about our own badluck. When we think by the knowledge, experience and discretion which are all within us, then we are able to experience God's boundless powers within us. This power increases the strength of the soul and the road to the conquest of troubles in our life becomes easy. The protecting hand of the kind Father is always on our head and protects us.
Only the shelter of the all powerful God is capable of liberating us from the world's troublenece.

Ghostly Footsteps

It was Friday the Thirteenth but the night was like any other night. It was dark, cold and a bit windy, but I never expected a ghost.
I had forgotten to brush my teeth before bed, so I got out of bed and went to the bathroom. As I started to brush, I looked into the mirror, I could see my shadow. After a while, it started to move and looked as if it was holding a sharp knife above my head about to kill me. I turned around the shadow. The shadow was back to normal, I thought I was losing mind.
In fear I brushed my teeth as fast as possible and ran back to bed. As I closed my eyes, many thoughts came into my mind and I couldn't sleep. I decided to listen to the sounds of the vehicles moving outside. After a while, I heard footsteps as if someone was walking on the carpet in the room. I thought it was my mother, but she was up in the kitchen.
I got so scared that I covered my face with the blanket and waited for it to get me. It sounded as if the ghost was going around my room in circles. After a long time I summoned al my courage and turned on the light just to check if any ghost was around, but there was no one. I tried to sleep again, but couldn't because I could still hear the footsteps.
This time the ghost had gone too far. I said to myself that no ghost is going to ruin my sleep. That's it the ghost has to go. I got out of bed really fast and turned on the lights but no one was there. I checked the carpet but no ghost. I shouted, "Come on, ghost you want me? Come get me!"
For the last time, I listened to the footsteps and it still sounded as if it was walking on the carpet. A small pause and I realized that it was the new alarm clock. I was shouting like a mad person.
But what about the shadow I saw in the bathroom?

Causes of Thinking Suicides

Most people find their lives purposeless, wasted and worthless. That is why with an ordinary illness or some slightly unfavorable situation, the individual prays for an end to his life.
In the opinion of one psychologist, every person thinks of committing suicide more than once in his life. It is a different thing that he does not develop enough courage to end his life. Even then some impulsive persons commit suicide because of petty reason like failing in examination, losing a jog, quarrels in the family or defeat in a court of law. The number of people committing suicide because of such reason is on the increase.
Why do people commit suicide? Psychologists give various answers to this question. Some people say that a man gets so much frightened on seeing disappointing atmosphere everywhere around him that he does not find any solution except this. According to some psychiatrists, people with violent tendencies who are unable to express them, destroys themselves by these tendencies.
Some persons find them selves so much lonely and helpless that they find no benefit in living and they think, 'why not to commit suicide?, after all what is there in life?. some persons think of committing suicides during emotional excitement and prepare a plan for suicide during such a condition.
The main reason for suicides is said to be depression due to any reason, whether due to physical illness or failure in examination, love or competition. A tendency of revenge is also said to be behind suicides. According to this opinion some member of the family commits suicide to teach a lesson to other members.
Some people commit suicide because of a burden of feeling guilty, since they are unable to find a solution to get rid of guilty-feelings. Many others commit suicide because they are fed up of old age, rejection by spouse, unemployment, court cases etc.
The reason for suicide is the experience of worthlessness of this life. It is also true that each person not just once, but many times think of his life worthless and many times a burden. To free himself from this burden, the person thinks of self-destruction.
The question arises, 'Is life so much worthless that by disappointment in small matters, one should think of ending it?' If a self-analysis is made seriously, it will be found that every person finds many times that his life is worthless and a burden.
Whatever the reason, but the worthlessness of life is felt with such intensity that by ending it, no difference is felt. Knowingly or unknowingly, in every person's mind, there is a feeling of disappointment, sadness and lack of worth regarding his life and this is expressed from time to time in various ways - sometimes as sadness because of lack of success, sometimes as irritation due to heavy work, or sometimes as inconsistent conduct with others.
All these negative sentiments are concealed expressions of feeling worthless. There is another kind of life like a flower which keeps on spreading its fragrance all rounds from the time it flowers forth till it falls to the ground.

A Religious Duty

T he fundamental basis of the divine Nepalese culture is the Vedic literature. The Vedas contain high level of spiritual principles and knowledge on practical life. In the Vedas ' 185 richas (stanzas) from all the Vedas viz, Rig-Veda, Yajur-veda, Sam Veda and Autharb-veda have been carefully selected and their explanation has been given in an easy-to-understand style. These stanzas are like pearls of wisdom. Daily study of this divine message makes life peaceful pure and free from passions. By reflecting and contemplating on the divine messages under the five divisions, life's aims can be successfully achieved. The five divisions are Brahmanatva (Brahman philosophy), Atmabal (Spiritual power or power of the soul), Charitra Nirman (Character formation), Dushpravrutti Nirman (eradication of wicked activities) and Parivar and Swasthya (Family and Health).
The basis of 'Vicharkranti' i.e. bringing about a change in thinking and attitudes for moral regeneration is sadgyan-prachar i.e. spreading of the good-knowledge, that is, the knowledge of morality, spirituality and a code of simple life-style. Keeping this aim in view, a campaign has been started to make this availability to every individuals. To make available to every person "Divine message of the Vedas" is published from Shantikunj Haridwar in a concessional price and has been advised to read this book daily for at least one hour and contemplate on the message contained in these 'mantras'.
The Vedas advise man to evole to a higher spiritual level. For that man has to change his thinking and attitudes. This is very much required to-day. Only through a change in the individual, change in the world and the era is possible. To create a heavenly atmosphere on the earth, we will have to change the level of the mind for the removal of selfishness, narrow-mindedness, indiscipline and immorality which have spread their tentacles to-day and in their place establish the goodwill and good activities of gentlemen. This activity is not possible by mere listening, writing and reading. For this an Endeavour will have to be made so that people adopt a life-style in harmony with a pure spiritual viewpoint.
That was the aim of our revered Gurudev Pandit Sriram Sharma Acharya and to fulfill his desire is our religious duty.
